Objective
The Billion Trees national movement aims to plant, nurture, and grow one billion trees by 2030, increasing forest cover to 9.0%. This initiative will help reduce desertification and land degradation, enhance greenhouse gas absorption and water resources, mitigate climate change, and accelerate the transition to green development.
Goals
Establish a legal framework to ensure comprehensive governance and a unified policy for the Billion Trees national movement.
Optimize research, analysis, and human resource development.
Develop a sustainable supply of tree seeds and cuttings, enhance seed farming, diversify tree nurseries, introduce advanced techniques and technologies, and ensure sufficient seedlings and saplings.
Reduce forest degradation and deforestation while expanding forest-covered areas.
Mitigate desertification, land degradation, and dust storms, and slow down sand movement.
Align with the objectives of the National Movement for Food Supply and Security by establishing specialized agroforestry businesses based on technical and economic feasibility. Develop fruit and berry farming, create protective forest strips around croplands to prevent soil erosion, enhance food security, reduce imports, and increase exports.
Protect and increase permafrost and water resources while reducing pollution and scarcity by afforesting riverhead areas, floodplains, and springs
Expand green spaces in urban areas and promote household fruit and berry cultivation to reduce air, water, and soil pollution, creating a healthier living environment.
Establish protective forest belts along highways and railways with fodder crops, develop a green infrastructure network, and reduce soil erosion and degradation
